The best and worst looks from the 2017 Brownlow red carpet
In news that disappointed fashion lovers, it was confirmed earlier today that red carpet regulars Nadia Bartel, Jesinta Franklin and Rebecca Judd would not be attending the Brownlow this year.
Bartel, wife of past Brownlow medallist Jimmy Bartel and regular on the best-dressed lists, told AAP the couple would not attend on Monday night, offering no reason for their absence, while indicating they “will be there in the future”. Judd’s management also said she will not attend.
Franklin, model and wife of Swan’s player Lance “Buddy” Franklin, is another no-show, posting a photo of a smoothie and ‘sick-face’ emoticon on Instagram on Sunday. With these notable absences it leaves room for the new guard to muscle their way to the top of the best dressed list.
So far Jarryd Roughead’s wife Sarah gets two enthusiastic thumbs up in the fashion stakes on the 2017 Brownlow red carpet. Herald Sun fashion writer Anna Byrne says Sarah is “taking the sartorial equivalent of a speccy in her long sleeve creation by One Day Bridal which featured geometric pearl detailing, and the ultimate accessory: a baby bump.
