Rashmika Mandanna replaces Samantha Ruth Prabhu in Rainbow, receives best wishes from her

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently sent best wishes to Rashmika Mandanna for her upcoming film Rainbow. Initially, the film was announced with Samantha as the lead, but due to date issues, she opted out of the film. Rashmika Mandanna shared a few pictures from the launch ceremony of Rainbow that took place on Monday. Samantha commented on the post and wrote, “All the best” with a smile emoticon. Despite being replaced by Rashmika in the film, Samantha’s supportive comment is winning hearts.

Rainbow is a breezy romantic fantasy drama produced by Dream Warrior Pictures and directed by Shantharuban. It was initially offered to Samantha, and the official announcement was made last year, but she had to quit the film due to other work commitments and date issues. Dev Mohan, who rose to fame with Shaakuntalam, will also be seen in a key role alongside Rashmika Mandanna. The cinematography will be handled by KM Bhaskaran, and the music will be scored by Justin Prabhakaran. The regular shoot of the film is expected to begin from April 7.

Meanwhile, Samantha is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated mythological film Shaakuntalam, set to release on April 14 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The film is based on a popular Indian play Shakuntala by Kalidasa and will see actor Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru Dynasty. She is also part of the Telugu romantic film Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda, directed by Shiva Nirvana. Samantha is also busy shooting for the Indian adaptation of the international series Citadel, originally created by the director duo, Russo Brothers.
