Vijay Sethupathi Shares the Special Reason Behind Choosing Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’
Renowned South Indian actor Vijay Sethupathi recently revealed the significant motivation that led him to accept the offer to star in the Shahrukh Khan-led film ‘Jawan’.
In an interview with an Indian media publication, Sethupathi expressed his admiration for Shahrukh Khan and his immense respect for the Bollywood superstar. He mentioned that the opportunity to work alongside Khan was something he couldn’t pass up, even if it meant doing the film without any financial compensation.
“I chose to do ‘Jawan’ solely because of Shahrukh Khan sir. Even if I didn’t receive a single penny, I would still have worked with him,” Sethupathi stated, highlighting his deep admiration for the legendary actor.
It is worth noting that ‘Jawan’ is not the only Hindi project Sethupathi has taken on. He has also appeared in the web series ‘Farzi’ alongside Shahid Kapoor, and will be seen alongside Katrina Kaif in the upcoming film ‘Merry Christmas’.
Directed by acclaimed South Indian filmmaker Atlee Kumar, ‘Jawan’ marks the debut collaboration between Shahrukh Khan and Sethupathi. The film also features Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani in pivotal roles, with special appearances from Sanjay Dutt, Deepika Padukone, and Thalapathy Vijay.
Produced by Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s production banner, Red Chillies Entertainment, the action-thriller is set to release on September 7 in multiple languages, including Hindi and dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
The film’s teaser, which was unveiled earlier this month, created a massive buzz, breaking previous records for Bollywood teasers and trailers. Within 24 hours, the two-minute-long clip garnered over 112 million views across all platforms, with the Hindi version alone amassing more than 47 million views.
